The Code for Change Awarded Truist Foundation Grant

The Code for Change proudly announces that it has been awarded a grant from the Truist Foundation through its Building Career Pathways to Economic Mobility initiative. This funding will support the launch of a comprehensive AI Literacy and Workforce Training Program beginning in March 2026, designed to equip individuals with practical artificial intelligence (AI) skills that lead to better employment opportunities, entrepreneurship, and long-term economic mobility.

As artificial intelligence rapidly reshapes industries, access to AI education has become essential—not optional. The Code for Change is committed to ensuring that communities historically underrepresented in technology are not left behind in the AI revolution.

Through this new initiative, participants will gain hands-on, accessible training in AI fundamentals, practical applications for small businesses and entrepreneurs, and career-aligned pathways into emerging tech roles. The program will include beginner-friendly courses for those new to technology, as well as more advanced learning tracks for individuals seeking to build technical AI competencies.

“We are so thankful to the Truist Foundation for this grant, as it represents more than funding — it represents opportunity,” said Tracey Thompson, Founder and Executive Director of The Code for Change. “AI is transforming the workforce. We want to ensure our community is prepared, competitive, and confident in using these tools — whether to secure higher-paying jobs, transition into new careers, or grow their own businesses.”

Courses will officially launch in March 2026 and will be open to adults, young professionals, entrepreneurs, and career changers seeking to strengthen their digital skillsets.

The Truist Foundation’s investment aligns with The Code for Change’s mission of bridging the digital divide by inspiring and equipping individuals from underrepresented communities with the digital skills needed to pursue STEM careers and become architects of a brighter technological future.
