The Code for Change Receives Grant from Maryland Office of Statewide Broadband Computer Lab Program

The Code for Change is thrilled to announce it has been awarded a grant from the Maryland Office of Statewide Broadband’s Computer Lab program, as recently announced by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). This grant, part of the state’s initiative to bridge the digital divide, will significantly enhance The Code for Change’s efforts to provide equitable access to technology and digital literacy training within the community.

This funding will enable The Code for Change to purchase new equipment for its Digital Lab, expanding its in-person programming and providing access to devices and digital literacy training to underserved communities in Prince George’s County.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Maryland Office of Statewide Broadband for this generous grant,” said Tracey Thompson, Executive Director of The Code for Change. “It directly empowers us to equip residents with the critical digital skills needed for success in today’s landscape. By focusing on both access and comprehensive training, we’re actively helping to build a more equitable and inclusive future for Maryland.”

The Code for Change is committed to building a more equitable tech landscape, laying the foundation for a future where technology reflects the brilliance of all backgrounds. We unlock potential, shatter barriers, and empower young minds to code their own success stories.

The Maryland Office of Statewide Broadband’s Computer Lab program underscores the state’s commitment to ensuring all residents have access to the tools and resources needed to participate fully in the digital economy. The Code for Change is proud to be a partner in this vital initiative.
